a new passion

crush em
Last weekend, while I was whipping up 2 pans of Crema de Fruta, I had the biggest realization in my cuisine life. As a backgrounder, I have been in-charged of the desserts in the clan's weekend get-together eversince my arrival. They all knew my Mom was a baker by profession so they want to try as many cakes that I have learned from her. I woke up really late last Sunday not counting the lengthy YM chat with my bestbud, so we all went downstairs in time for lunch. Tita Babes told me that I had to bake 2 pans of Crema de Fruta as the rest of the family are coming over for lunch. Not checking if the ingredients were complete, I whipped it up instantly. There were a lot of missing ingredients so I had to improvise. Tita Babes left to grab some soda from the grocery. When she came back after around 45 minutes, the 2 Pans were ready for feast! She was shocked by how fast I did everything. Honestly, I was also shocked! While I was doing everything else in between peeping from the recipe book my mom gave me, I realized that I was doing it with no fuss and it was such a breeze. It has been 5 years ago since I made my last Crema de Fruta hahah! I felt like my mom's persona was in me the whole time. I see her in myself and beside me, telling me what to put next etc... I was smiling a whole lot the whole time! Titan even caught my attention and asked me why I was smiling. I found pure joy while doing it similar to how I put make-up on other people, parang napoposses ako LOL! I was in my own world while baking. Gosh, it must be in our genes? Do you believe in that? I know my cakes don't look as great and don't taste as great as my mom's but I think I'm beginning to feel the passion she has for her cake creations. Last friday, I was telling Titan also about a dream I had, my dream was I put up this coffee and pastry shop with some computers for rental and I called it the "Bloggers Cafe" (LOL!) and we have books on blogging etc...I have a complete picture of what my Bloggers Cafe will look like. The dream was so vivid, I had it in San Francisco pa sosyal! HAHHA! Am I being led to a new passion? Hmmm.

I just wonder though, if I could create a wedding cake too, similar to our wedding cake which Mommy made for a week only.
